Job description

MGID is a global advertising technology company and pioneer in native advertising, operating a programmatic platform that connects advertisers and publishers across 200+ countries. The company runs a real-time bidding (OpenRTB) business model with AI-powered targeting and content recommendation widgets, serving hundreds of millions of users monthly.

MGID is seeking a
Strategy Manager to help define and execute the company’s multi-year strategic direction, with a strong focus on shifting from a product-led to a customer-value-led mindset, evaluating strategic product and investment opportunities, and cascading strategy into prioritized, cross-functional initiatives.

This role sits within a fast-moving, data-driven ad-tech environment and reports to the COO.

Role Purpose

The Strategy Manager will act as a key strategic partner to the COO and leadership team, responsible for shaping MGID’s medium- to long-term strategy, evaluating strategic options for products and markets, and ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into concrete, prioritized projects with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.

Job requirements

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, or related roles within international tech scale-ups or high-growth environments; ad-tech or programmatic advertising experience is a strong plus.

  • Proven track record in a top-tier consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Big Four strategy practices) or equivalent strategic role in a tech company.

  • Hands-on experience preparing and presenting successful strategic cases with visible internal impact, such as new market entry, product portfolio optimization, or major investment decisions.

  • Strong financial modeling skills, including practical experience with valuation methods such as DCF, NPV, and IRR, and the ability to build and maintain investment models in Excel.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, commercial, data/BI, and operations leaders in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence senior audiences and drive alignment across geographies.

  • Self-starter mindset: ready to operate as an individual contributor who can both design strategy and execute hands-on.

What You’ll Do:

Corporate & Product Strategy

  • Lead the identification and articulation of MGID’s overall strategy and strategic direction for the next 3–5 years, aligning with business focus and growth trajectory.

  • Evaluate strategic perspectives for specific products and portfolios, assessing market exposure, competitive dynamics, and growth potential.

  • Support the shift from a product-led to a customer-value-led company by embedding customer-centric frameworks into strategic planning, prioritization, and roadmap decisions.

Investment & Business Evaluation

  • Lead evaluations of stand-alone investment opportunities, including new products, markets, partnerships, and M&A, and prepare robust business cases with clear financial impact assessments.

  • Own and evolve company evaluation models, including DCF, NPV, IRR, and scenario analysis, and ensure consistent application across strategic and investment decisions.

  • Support participation in accelerators and corporate venture initiatives to identify and select startup investments that drive business growth and strategic synergy.

Strategy Execution & Prioritization

  • Cascade corporate strategy into granular projects and initiatives, working closely with the CPO, CRO, and BI Director on prioritization, resourcing, and sequencing.

  • Define KPIs and performance frameworks to track strategy implementation and outcomes, and establish governance and reporting routines for strategic workstreams.

  • Monitor progress, adapt plans in response to changing market conditions, and recommend corrective actions to keep strategic initiatives on track.

Strategic Analysis & Advisory

  • Conduct market, competitor, and customer analysis to inform strategic choices and identify opportunities and risks.

  • Facilitate scenario planning and stress testing to assess strategic resilience under different market and regulatory conditions.

  • Present strategic recommendations and status updates to senior leadership, influencing decision-making with clear, evidence-based insights.
